Golick's!

Benny is taking part in the Barrington Rec summer soccer program. He plays on Tuesday nights from 6 to 7:30 pm. On the way to his first soccer practice we noticed that we passed the Golick's Dairy Bar. So even though it has been wet and rainy, we are making it part of our routine to stop for an ice cream after practice. So far we have tried:

Week 1
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Cookies n Cream
Peanut Butter Iditerod
Totally Turtle

Week 2
Cotton Candy (Benny of course!)
Mint Chocolate Chip
Peanut Butter Cup
Black Magic Cheesecake

I can't wait to try a new flavor each week. Being the geek that I am, I went on-line and found their web site. So now I can read about the flavors to help me make this difficult decision.

Uncle Caleb Visits

Uncle Caleb (and soon to be Aunt Stephanie) made their way out East for a visit.  As Caleb usually does, he bought the boys a present that is unique and best suited for outdoor play.  The video above says it all.

T-Ball Season Finale!

Benny's T-Ball season is finished.  I was the "dugout Mom" and spent my time with the kids in the dugout asking them (okay, yelling sometimes!) to sit down, to keep their hands to themselves, to avoid using the word "poop" or "cow" in their cheers and other basic reminders that 5 and 6 year olds need.  The kids were good though and it was a fun season.

A close up.

Not too many kids around to yell at!

The coveted trophy!

A Rare Sunny Day!

It has been a dreary month with very few days that make you want to jump in the pool.  Here are some shots from one of the sunny days we had.

Jacob lounging in the sun.

Benny being tossed around by George.

Benny relaxing.

A sunny day in the pool - what's not to like?

This game called Cadoo

Jacob got a board game, named Cadoo, for his birthday last Fall.  We tucked it away under the couch - where we store all of our mismatched and missing a piece or two board games and the boys forgot about it.  Ben recently found the game and asked us to play a few rounds.

Cadoo is a cross between charades and Pictionary.  You roll a dice and then get a challenge - which can include acting out a phrase for others to guess, drawing a word and having the other players figure it out, or answering a basic question.

Ben always ends up having to draw out a word or phrase.  I wanted to share some of his drawings.

This picture is of "eyelashes".

And this is a "lunch box".

And a "sea horse".

Back to Blogging...

The blog has taken a back seat to a busy month of extra hours at work, t-ball and baseball games and practices, and just overall running around.  This other social networking site, you might know it, called Facebook has also taken up some of my time!  But we are back on the blog!
