Playoff Baseball

These pictures say it all...

End of Season...

My parents took Benny and I out for a boat ride today.  It was a beautiful day to be on the water and enjoying Portsmouth Harbor.  We even saw two seals.  (My dad insists it was the same seal!)

After the boat ride we went to a pumpkin patch at a local church and then had a delicious lunch at Loco Coco's in Kittery.  And then, we went to Lago's Lone Oak in Rye and ate way too much ice cream!  My parents and I had "baby" cones and Benny got a small.  I can't even imagine what a "large" serving looks like!

On the dock.

Thumbs up!

A "Texas" Sized Beer!

The boys don't have school today so last night we did a little shopping and went out to eat.  Jacob and Ben did not want to go to Redhook, their parent's first choice, so we settled on Texas Road House.  I never realized how big a 22 oz beer really is!

George went with the 22 ouncer.  I chose the more delicate 10 oz size!

Nottingham Day 5K

All of the boys ran in the Nottingham Day 5K race today.  Jacob finished in 20:27 and took first place in the 18 and under category.  Ben, with George accompanying him, completed the race in 29:00.  I am very proud of both boys!  And I think Ben was right - I am not sure I could have kept up with him!

The Snow boys!

With their proud mom!

First of two...

Jacob had his first cross country meet yesterday.  It was a perfect day for running - sunny and cool.  In addition to the regular league schools, Hampton Academy was also invited to participate in the race.  And boy do they participate - it took two buses to transport the Hampton cross country team to the meet! (They had nice team duffle bags and warm up jackets too.)

The 2.1 mile race started off at a fast pace and Jacob was 40 runners back from the lead.  At this race, the runners loop around the course three times.  Each time we saw Jacob he improved his position in the field of 70+ runners.

He must have turned it on during the last lap because Jacob ended up finishing 15th overall and ran the 2.1 miles in 13:40 which made for a 6:30 pace.  He was the first finisher for his team.  His buddy Davio was right behind Jacob and finished a few spots back.

Jacob does not have much time to savor his success.  Today he is running in the Nottingham Day 5K race.  (His coach said this may not have been the best planning and scolded me for having Jacob race two days in a row!)

George and Benny will be running in the 5K race too.  I had wanted to run with Benny but apparently Ben does not think I have what it takes to keep up with him.  Oh well.  I'll be volunteering instead!

Looking sharp!

Look who came in 4th!

Jacob ran in a 5K road race in Lee today.  He finished 4th out of 36 runners.  His time was 24:17 for a 7:48 per mile pace.  Nice job kid!  He said the course had a couple of good hills!

Anticipation!

Several members of the Snow family are anxiously waiting for 1:00 pm, Sunday, September 11.  Are you ready for some football?

Looking forward to a good outcome for the Steelers!

Jacob already has his game face on.

Got to the beach!

We finally made it to the beach this summer - without a day to spare!  Benny loved the waves and stayed in the water until he was shivering cold.  I even got in for a bit.

Labor Day Lobster

My parents celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary this weekend.  And my mom won 10 lobsters through a church raffle so the family got together for  a Labor Day Weekend Lobster Fest!  We also decided to grill up some nice tenderloin steaks for a little surf-n-turf.

Michele and Rick made sangria for us!  (Well, Rick actually did the work!)

The white sangria was excellent!

Watch out for those lobsters!

A toast to lobster and 41 years of marriage!

This crew was enjoying themselves too!

I'm back!

Okay, too much time has passed since I last posted.  Spring came and went.  The boys finished school and now summer is over and the boys are back at school.  Here are some highlights -

Jacob fractured his arm during a track meet - buckle fracture!

We had lot's of poolside fun!

George customized his motorcycle!  I even went for a ride.

We got new furniture.  Our former furniture was 13 years old!

All of our college friends visited for July 4th and to welcome Pete home from his tour in Afghanistan!

We took an amazing family vacation to Chicago.
This is the view from the condo we rented!

And had to try deep dish pizza!  Benny did not like it!

We made it through Hurricane Irene.
The worst thing we had to deal with was this odd and venomous caterpillar Benny found.

And the boys went back to school.
Hard to believe they are in 3rd and 7th grade!
