Opening Day - 2010

Yesterday was Opening Day for Nottingham baseball. Jacob is in his third year of minors with George coaching his team again. Benny moved up to farm league and George helps assistant coach that team.

After the opening ceremonies, the boys played in exhibition games. Ben's team did well and Benny made a nice play at third base. (He also likes to twirl his hat in the air when playing the outfield - so we'll need to work on that!) Jacob's team won their game and shut out the other team! It was nice to see their team do so well. Here are some pictures from the day:

And there's Jacob!

More of Benny's team...That's Ben with the glove up.

Ben says "No more! Time to play ball!"
Erin is smiling for the camera too!

April Vacation

George and I had to work over the kid's April vacation week so the boys had a chance to spend time with their grandparents, Grammy and Uncle Colin.

On Tuesday, my folks brought the boys down to Boston to visit the aquarium. They had a blast even though my mom said next time they need some sort of video system for the car. Apparently the boys got a bit too rambunctious on the ride home!

Penguins - everyone's favorite!

Myrtle, the turtle, I believe.

Parenting 101

A glimpse into what goes on here at the Snow household...

He got a bike!

George has wanted a motorcycle for the past 12 years. He had a bike all through college and when we first got married. He got rid of it, at my urging, right before Jacob was born. Each spring he talks about a getting a bike. This year, for some reason, it seemed like the right thing to do. Here are some pictures:

George and the bike.

And another shot...don't worry - he wears a helmet when he rides!

Scissors, a Lego and a Finger

We ended the weekend with a trip to the urgent care clinic because Jacob nearly cut off the tip of his finger today! He was trying to cut a Lego to "customize" it and had a mishap. He did this around 12:30 pm but did not let us know how badly he cut himself. Later in the day I took a good look at the cut and knew that he needed to get checked out. And two shots of novocain and 6 stitches later - all is well. Here is what his finger now looks like:

Looking good, well, better...

Ben on Claritin

Ben has been suffering from some mystery illness or allergies for the past few days. I have now talked to the school nurse every day this week and Ben was sent home from school two of the four days. The doctor said it could be a cold or it could be allergies and told us to treat it like an allergy. So this morning Ben got his first dose of Claritin 24 - apparently kids over 6 years old can take it.

Ben felt better today but I am not sure if he is happy to be well or if the medicine is making him a bit wild. You be the judge.

Easter Sunday

My family celebrated Easter at our house. We had brunch and enjoyed spiral ham, spinach quiche, french toast casserole, Mom's green beans and fruit salad. (Call me a geek but I like to know what I serve each year for the holidays!)

After we ate, we enjoyed the nice weather. My folks got the boys some 3-D chalk - pretty cool stuff!

Taking a break.

Ben on the swing set! Dare devil!

The happy couple!

Chores don't take a holiday - even on Easter!

Watching the Celtics pull out a victory!

3-D chalk - can you see it?

Having fun...

These two are looking cool!

Michele and Rick.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny hid the eggs outside this year. The boys enjoyed finding the eggs. Here are some pictures from the hunt!

My three boys on Easter morning.

There goes Benny!

Some of the Easter Bunny's handiwork!

There goes Ben again!

All smiles!

Did I find one?

Ripley was helping too.

And Jacob...

Making good progress!
