Memorial Day Weekend Part 1

What a great Memorial Day weekend and it is only Monday morning! Yesterday we went to the Eberhardt's for a cook-out and deployment party for our friend Pete. He leaves soon for Afghanistan. As usual, the Eberhardt's out did themselves and we enjoyed swimming, tubing, skiing, boating and general mayhem! Here are some pictures of the boys enjoying themselves:

Ben, Shipman and his boys in the row boat!
Shipman was a good sport!

Benny, Dillon and the neighbor's dog.

That dog liked Ben and his not-so-neat eating style!

The kids observed all boating safety rules.
That is Ben on the back of the kayak with the super-squirter!

Off they go...

Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

The boys caught up with the ice cream man today. They bought Blue Bunny Oreo Sundae Cups that cost $4.00 each! Zoinks! They won't be doing that very often!

Waiting in line for their treats!

Enjoying $4.00 worth of ice cream!

Yummy!

Mohawks Fun!

Benny is in his first year of Farm baseball this year. His team, the Mohawks, is doing well and he is having fun. He likes to play catcher and is pretty good at it.

Behind the plate.

Smiling for the camera.

Make that stop!

Having fun with his pals after the game.

Catty the Caterpillar

Benny decided to make friends with a caterpillar. He named him "Catty".

On Benny's shoulder.

And a close up. Seems a little freaky!

Patience

The ice cream man drove through our neighborhood last Sunday. We did not get out the house fast enough to catch him as he went by. We assumed he would swing back by our house as he left the neighborhood. Benny decided to wait for him and ended up spending 45 minutes standing at the end of our drive way with his $3.00. Made me think of that old Guns n Roses song Patience....

Benny waiting...(view from the house).

Still waiting - dollars in hand.

Can't crush his spirit. (He did come in later crying and upset that the ice cream man disappeared!)

Family Swim

It was a beautiful day and George had the pool ready to go. We all enjoyed a fun afternoon swimming, splashing and getting a little sun burned!

Benny with some wave pool action...

No, don't shoot!

George and Ben.

Having fun.

Getting out of the pool can be difficult.

Taking a break.

Self-portrait.

Brendan joined in the fun too!

We could not find Ben's regular swimsuit so he wore these shorts.
They were a bit too snug though - European style!

George decided to wash the cars and terrorize the kids with the hose.
See the look of pure joy on George's face!

Arapaho Victory

Jacob's team won their first game of the season with a 17 - 16 victory over the Raymond Royals! They were down 3 runs going into the final inning but scored the 4 runs they needed to take the lead!

Jacob played catcher for 3 innings, first base for a couple more and then had to pitch the last inning. He made a nice catch on a fly ball and threw to first for the force out as the base runner had left the base.

Ben and I also worked in the snack shack for a while and that, as everyone knows, is also very exciting!

Ben in snack shack.

"Can I help you? How about a ring pop?"

Jacob behind the plate.

He loves catching.

And he loves pixie sticks. Oh, the treasures of the snack shack.

And what is a baseball game without Fun Dip?
