A bottle of red, a bottle of white....

My friends and family know that I enjoy drinking white wine and don't care for red. However, faced with a wine cabinet full of red wine (left over from parties and such) I am now determined to become a red wine drinker.

I have successfully met this challenge the last two evenings and enjoyed a glass of Cline "Red Truck" before dinner. I certainly didn't like it as much as a nice glass of Chardonnay, but it was actually enjoyable. If I can continue to drink this red stuff then I won't have to head out to the NH State Liquor Store for weeks or maybe even months! (On another note...I have somehow stopped biting my nails...so perhaps anything is possible!)

I hear you Jackie...the non-pregnant me LOVES a glass of white every now and again. I have always wanted to drink red because it just looks good but I can't seem to muster up the strength. I will pass on all my bottles here to you too! There are many collecting dust, just like in your house! ☺

If you drink too red wine you will become a "ruiner" just to let you know.

I could never be a "ruiner" like you and George were! Even after drinking several bottles of red wine! We'll have to share a bottle once you and Erin are up here in NH.

That was funny!
I have never aquired a taste for any wine and I wish I could. It sounds so relaxing to come home and have a glass of wine with dinner. I think red looks more appealing but to me they all taste the same and taste terrible! I am a frozen drink girl. Make me some Margaritas and I am all set!

p.s. Colin what is a "ruiner"? I have never heard of that.

I am sure Colin will weigh in and tell us what a "ruiner" is but here is my version of the story...

Years ago at our annual Snow Christmas Party, George and his brother Colin had too much to drink. In my opinion they then proceeded to ruin the evening and hence were considered "ruiners". (And I was very vocal in telling them this that evening!) They were behaving badly and being far too loud. When I asked them to help clean up, thinking it would calm them down, they took the wrapped up left over food and tried to dump it on my friend's head. Since then the threat of being a "ruiner" exists.

I would say a ruiner is anything that disrupts Jackie Snow from enjoying her wine and leading to her use of 4 letter words. In some instances, it also leads to George sleeping on the couch. With that said, being a ruiner is pretty damn funny!

Just to keep folks updated on my quest to become a red wine drinker - I had a couple of glasses (small glasses) of De Loach Pinot Noir last night and it was good. It was far better than the other wine I tried. So it looks like I am making some progress with this goal!

OH, then Billy has been a "ruiner" quite a few times!

A quick update on my red wine driking ways - on day 3 of the bottle being open the De Loach Pinot Noir is still tasting good to me. Per my Mom, the Red Truck wine is not that good!

what about mixing some juice in there so it's like a sangria :)

For anyone who is keeping track - I bought a bottle of white wine today and enjoyed a glass (or two) this evening. The red has been good but I missed my old friend pinot grigio!
